LFA Prepare to Celebrate 125 Years

Saturday October 28th will see the LFA celebrate its 125th Anniversary with a Gala Dinner in the Dunboyne Castle Hotel. The Leinster FA are the oldest football association in the Republic of Ireland and predates the FAI by almost thirty years with members of the LFA very instrumental in the formation of the National Association in 1921

The Provincial Association will record this historic date when they celebrate this event with a dinner attended by our affiliated leagues and guests with Daragh Maloney the MC for the night while music will be provided by Joanna and Tequila Sunrise

LFA Over Thirty Five Cup Semi Final

Crettyard United  4  Kildare Town  3

Carlow league side Crettyard United booked their place in the LFA Over Thirty Five Cup final after overcoming Kildare Town in a dramatic semi final last Saturday. Kildare took an early lead but Crettyard came back and led 4-1 with fifteen minutes to go but Kildare battled back to 4-3 and had a goal bound shot cleared off the line in the dying minutes. Crettyard now await the winners of Straffan AFC v Finglas United which is being played this Saturday in Straffan at 4pm

Shelbourne lifted the LFA Senior Cup for the 20th time when overcoming Dundalk after extra time in Oriel Park last Wednesday.

Hessian FA

The LFA are currently exploring the option of twinning with the Hessian FA in Germany to play games at Youth level. Based in and around Frankfurt, the Hessian FA are ranked 6th of the 22 Associations in Germany.
