On Sunday, the last of the quarter finals will be played when Skryne Tara take on Aungier Celtic at 2pm.

Also on Saturday, North End United from Wexford will travel to Parkville United in Tullow in the Third round of the O Neills LFA Youth Cup with a game at home to St Kevins Boys in the quarter finals as the reward for the winner. This game in Tullow kicks off at 2pm on Saturday

On Sunday, Carlow  league side Hanover Harps are at home to Baldoyle United from the AUL in the last sixteen of the O Neills LFA Junior Cup while Freebooters from Kilkenny travel to Home Farm to take on the host team in the quarter finals of the O Neills LFA Under Nineteen Cup

Best of luck to all teams in what promises to be a great weekend of football

North End through to last sixteen date with Booth Road Celtic

Published: Sunday, 03 March 2019 18:45
A last minute change of venue from Hollygrove in Wexford town to Curracloe United did not upset North End's run in the O Neills LFA Junior Cup as they overcame a decent Ardmore Rovers from the LSL. It was always going to be a tricky match for the Wexford town side but they used their experience to handle the difficult conditions and produce a hard working performance against an Ardmore side who are enjoying a decent run of form in recent weeks. Paul "Spot" Murphy was the hero for North End as he scored a hat trick to earn North End a last sixteen game away to Booth Road Celtic, which will be played on Saturday March 23rd in Corkagh Park at 2pm

Straffan through to last four of Junior Shield

Published: Sunday, 03 March 2019 18:38
Straffan FC from the Kildare and District League are the first team through to the semi finals of the O Neills LFA Junior Shield after they overcame LSL side Iveagh Celtic after a game that began in heavy rain and ended in a blanket of snow. With Straffan's pitch not playable, the game was switched to Ballyoulster's all weather pitch and despite the poor weather conditions, both sides managed to produce a decent game of football but goals from Ed Neenan and John Treacy saw the home side through to the last four
The remaining three quarter finals will be played next weekend and draw for semi finals will be made on Tuesday March 12th at LFA Junior Committee meeting

Ireland Under 18s reclaim John Coughlan Cup

Published: Friday, 01 March 2019 12:41
Republic of Ireland home based Under Eighteens reclaimed the John Coughlan Memorial Cup when a 3-2 win in Bala Town saw them overcome Wales 4-2 on aggregate. After Josh Derham's goal saw Ireland win 1-0 on Tuesday, this 3-2 win yesterday saw the lads reclaim the cup which Wales had won in Tramore last year. Crumlin United's Rian Ashe gave Ireland the lead but two goals from Wales had them in front as the game approached the break before Ashe scored his second to equalise and Donegal man Aaron McDaid scored just before half time to give the Republic of Ireland victory
Well done to all six LFA players, and indeed the whole squad, on this achievement

LFA members: Conor Brady (Naas FC), Rian Ashe (Crumlin United), Eanna Doyle (Cloughbawn AFC), Josh Derham (Naas FC), Niall Connolly (North End United), Jack Doyle (Stella Maris)

Two crucial ties down for this weekend

Two big games down for decision will see the last LFA Junior Cup Fourth Round game being played while also seeing the first of the four LFA Junior Shield quarter finals.

In the O Neills LFA Junior Cup Fourth Round, LSL side Ardmore Rovers travel to Wexford to take on last years FAI Junior Cup winners, North End United. This game will kick off at 2pm on the newly laid pitch in Hollygrove, which is in Wexford town, for anyone travelling down from Bray. A tough game away to Booth Road Celtic will await the winners

In the last eight of the O Neills LFA Junior Shield, Straffan FC from Kildare will host Iveagh Celtic from the LSL in what promises to be a very close encounter. The game kicks off at 2pm and both sides will be eager to progress in what is one of the provinces most sought after trophy

Results of both games will be posted here on Sunday evening and best of luck to all four sides
